01:55 pm - this has been so long coming I forgot when it started
This is my first entry in 2 months, mainly because every time I think of writing in here, something else comes up or I have to convince myself that sitting in my room feeling sorry for myself, writing essays and watching Clone High/Family Guy is more important than being literally creative...

anyway here is a quick synopsis of what I've been up to...

Uni has been so-so, some classes (pop-culture, radio) have been super awesome, others have been iffy (new-media, media theory DVD)

been doing worse grades-wise than last year, mostly credits with a distinction or two, last year it was mainly distctions and HD's with a few credits...I blame the fact

making my own DVD was really, insanely hard, but I really enjoyed it and would like to go back to mine in the near future and fix some errors in colours/buttons etc. so that it looks better on a TV

Now I'm done with classes and waiting on news re: IBL (industry based learning, paid relevant work for a year)
I have one exam on the 26th (pop cultutre) which shouldn't be too annoying, 90 minutes, 10 x short answer q's

this year has been super busy for live stuff, I've seen these bands so far:

Gyroscope:

3rd time I've seen these guys live and they just get better and better, their energy and talent is insane,
unfortuantly my glasses were knocked off my face by some dickhead crowdsurfer and got bent and stomped
on, however I have uber strong eyewear and they were soon good as new..

Eisley/Taking Back Sunday

Really, really impressed with eisley, having never heard of them, kinda indie-pop with amazing femal vocals and and a definete alt-country vibe...(plus the guitarist is a stunning hottie)

TBS were just.....wow....every other band that plays this kind of pop-emo rock music just needs to stop, just give it up guys, they put so much into every song and still manage to sound pretty damn good....

Eleventh He Reaches London/Coheed & Cambria

EHRL were another real suprise, prog-core at its finest, these guys blew me away with their 6min+ freakout sessions and I was hooked....plus they are really nice dudes to top it all off.

Co&Ca were unbelievable, the muscianship was top notch, every song was pulled of without a hitch and despite the fact that I got lost for 30mins on my way home and accidentally ended up in Northcote, I was still hyped by the time I got home, plus they had graphic novels for sale at the merch table which just geeked it out for me...

Motion City Soundtrack

Quite possibly the best live experience up to this point, one of my top 5 all time favourite bands of the last 3 years, these guys just left me literally speechless after the show, every song had the crowd jumping along like it was some kind of aerobics video gone mad, the setlist was perfect (capital H & future freaks me out = !!!)

the acoustic set/signing beforehand was really good as well, nice down to earth dudes with an awesome sense of humour and a talent for singalongs.

Majorca/Quebec/Needletail/lefthandcutstheright

I was so incredibley psyched for this show @ seaby, first because it was left hand's last show and I knew I was in for something special & secondly because the bands were all top notch, a true example of how more shows should happen, 40+ people crammed into a loungeroom barely big enough for 10, just one of the most inspiring and heartfelt things I've ever wittnessed...

Something for Kate

Never a massive fan, but always followed them, I won tickets to the Live at the Wireless gig at the Northcote Social Club and along with a mate (+1) in tow I saw one of Australia's best live acts play for a solid hour and a half and tear through selections from their new album and previous hits (captain/monsters etc) with a passion and musical talent that was special to watch.

in July im seeing Gyroscope again, and I cant wait to see some more bands, so get touring people...

Clone High was such a quality toon. Head and shoulders above every other modern comedy cartoon, I reckon. Such a shame it was axed after one season.

"Well, well, well. If it isn't my old friend, underage drinking. So, we meet again. How are you, underage drinking? Besides illegal!"
